The Lada Connect remote control system has crashed in Russia - the cause is a serious unspecified fault
The remote control of the new Ladas has not worked for days and the fault has not been fixed.

THERE ARE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE OPERATION OF THE LADA Connect telematics platform and Ladas equipped with the Connect system can no longer be controlled by phone as before, several media following the Russian car market are now reporting.
According to the technical bulletin provided to dealers by Avtovaz, the manufacturer of the Lada, it is an "unspecified external fault" that is serious in level. The problem has apparently lasted for about a week.
Lada Connect is a smartphone application that allows the user of the new Lada to see, for example, the location of their car and can lock and unlock their car's doors and hatches remotely, even from the other side of the world.
The system can also be used to turn Lada on and off via the phone.
In addition, the application provides information on traveled distances and fuel consumption, as well as various diagnostic information.
The user of a Lada equipped with the Connect system can also completely prevent the car from starting in the event of theft, for example, and send the location coordinates to the Russian traffic police.
The installation of Lada Connect in the cars of the Lada Granta collection began in May 2021.
Similar systems are now commonplace in almost all new western cars.
It is known that there are no Lados in Finland that also have Lada Connect equipment.
